Overview: Ignite is seeking an experienced Technical Writer/Editor to support the Joint Electromagnetic Warfare Center (JEWC). The selected candidate will manage, draft, edit, and route high-visibility correspondence, technical publications, and formal responses using government systems such as the Task Management Tool (TMT). This role ensures all written products meet Department of Defense (DoD), USSTRATCOM, NATO, and Service-specific writing, formatting, and publication standards while supporting mission-critical communications for senior decision-makers.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage the drafting, tracking, editing, and formal submission of correspondence using the government’s Task Management Tool (TMT) and collaboration platforms.
· Edit and revise technical documents, reports, and briefings to meet DoD, USSTRATCOM, NATO, and other specified style, grammar, and formatting standards.
· Recommend and implement revisions, alternative presentation methods, and style adjustments to enhance clarity, readability, and mission alignment.
· Manage the clearance, coordination, and production process for written materials to meet required quality and submission deadlines.
· Rewrite, proofread, and polish technical content for clarity, persuasiveness, and compliance with established writing conventions.
· Collaborate with subject matter experts to define audience needs, review technical content, and recommend optimal presentation methods for delivering critical information to DoD, Combatant Commands, Services, Agencies, and international defense partners.
Qualifications:
· Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance and eligibility for NATO Secret access.
· Bachelor’s degree.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience as a technical writer and editor supporting DoD or federal agencies.
· Demonstrated expertise in DoD writing standards, grammar, style, and publication development.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite tools.
· Experience using formal task management systems such as TMT.
· Proven ability to meet quality assurance metrics and manage time-sensitive deliverables.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience supporting Combatant Commands, Services, or Joint organizations.
· Familiarity with international defense communication standards, including NATO.
