Bizzell US is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer to create clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation supporting FOH's IT operations and services. This position will develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), user manuals, training guides, and system documentation that translate technical content into accessible formats for stakeholders of varying technical expertise.


Key Responsibilities


Documentation Development

  • Draft, edit, and maintain SOPs, technical manuals, system design documentation, and operational playbooks.
  • Translate technical information from engineers, developers, and project teams into clear, structured documents.
  • Produce user guides and reference material for GOTS applications, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Salesforce, and other FOH systems.

Knowledge Management

  • Maintain a centralized documentation repository using SharePoint or a designated knowledge base system.
  • Support version control, approval workflows, and document archival processes.

Process Mapping & Reporting

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to map business processes and workflows.
  • Develop visual aids such as diagrams, charts, and step-by-step procedures for presentations and audits.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all documentation complies with Section 508 accessibility standards and FOH/HHS style guides.
  • Perform routine audits and updates to documentation based on system changes or stakeholder feedback.
Requirements

  

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a technical writer supporting IT programs or federal projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Visio, Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and formatting skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting HHS, NIH, or federal health programs.
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST documentation structures.
  • Working knowledge of Agile delivery environments and IT service management tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow).

  

Work Environment

  • Hybrid schedule with on-site work in Rockville, MD as needed.
  • Must be available during standard FOH business hours (7 AM – 6 PM EST).
